Method

How we ranked these agencies.

Everything starts from public, verifiable data. Strengths are written from each agency’s website; no rating or figure is made up.

Entry criteria

  1. Active, open Google listing with at least 10 reviews. Uclic, the publisher listed first outside the formula, is not subject to this threshold.
  2. Website online, and a Google listing that matches that website.
  3. One entry per agency: listings present in several cities are merged.
  4. Growth marketing or growth hacking is stated in the website’s title, H1 or description, and the agency runs acquisition across several channels (search, ads, outbound, CRM, automation, data). An agency focused on a single channel (social ads, LinkedIn prospecting), an agency leading with website design, a media outlet, an independent consultant or an agency based outside France does not qualify.

Score formula

Score = (reviews ÷ (reviews + 20)) × rating + (20 ÷ (reviews + 20)) × 4.98. 4.98 is the average rating of the verified pool. An agency rated 5.0 on 12 reviews therefore does not automatically beat one rated 4.9 on 90 reviews.

Limits

  • A Google rating measures client satisfaction, not technical quality or price.
  • Our database comes from a Google Maps collection across 27 large French cities: a very good agency without a Google listing or outside those cities may be missing.
  • Ratings change: the list is re-read at every update and an agency that closes or drops below the threshold leaves the ranking automatically.

From the database to the ranking

  1. 4,648agency listings in our database (Google Maps and Google, 16 services, 27 cities)
  2. 610unique agencies after quality filters (open, validated, website, Google listing, at least 10 reviews) and national deduplication
  3. 61agencies whose website mentions growth (whole database, no “growth” service in the collection)
  4. 13growth marketing or growth hacking in the website’s title, H1 or description
  5. 11no independent consultant, nothing outside France
  6. 5multi-channel growth as the lead service, live website, consistent Google listing (manual review of all 11 agencies)
  7. 5at least 10 Google reviews on 29/10/2026
  8. 5agencies ranked above

Main exclusions

  • 2 agencies focused on a single channel (social ads; LinkedIn prospecting and ghostwriting, ranked in our prospecting comparison)
  • 2 agencies leading with website design and search
  • 1 media outlet and incubator, which is not an agency
  • 1 inconsistent Google listing (linked to a different company than the website)
  • 1 consultant selling a ready-made method
  • 1 agency based outside France (Switzerland)
Checklist

Five questions to ask a growth marketing agency before signing.

  1. Who actually runs the account?

Ask for the name, seniority and availability of the person who will run your account every week, not just the one selling the engagement.

  2. How is the agency paid?

Separate management fees from any commission on the media budget: an agency paid as a percentage of ad spend has no reason to reduce it.

  3. Is the method documented?

Ask to see the written method: phases, deliverables, criteria for moving from one stage to the next, and how experiments are prioritised and judged.

  4. What does weekly management look like?

Ask for a real report: which metrics, how often, who comments on it and which decisions follow.

  5. Quantified case studies and references you can call?

Ask for results with their context (starting point, duration, budget) and at least one client reference you can call.

  6. Does the agency fit your stage and channels?

Check that it already works with companies of your size and model (B2B or B2C, SaaS, e-commerce), on the channels that matter to you.

What about Uclic?

Our positioning, transparently.

Uclic is a growth marketing agency built for B2B: a senior growth marketer runs the whole funnel (acquisition, activation, retention, referral, revenue) with a 90-day method, and the same team runs SEO and GEO, ads, outbound and AI-agent automation. If you are a B2C brand or an online shop mainly looking for social media advertising, several agencies above are a better fit than we are.

Our Google listing shows 5.0/5 from 7 reviews (checked on 29 October 2026), below the 10-review threshold applied to the other agencies.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Growth marketing agency or growth hacking agency: what is the difference?

Growth hacking looks for a quick spike through low-cost tactics, often on a single channel. Growth marketing keeps the experimentation but makes it last, across the whole funnel (acquisition, activation, retention, revenue). Agencies in this ranking use either term; judge them on their method and channels rather than the label.

Growth agency or digital marketing agency?

A digital marketing agency mainly coordinates acquisition channels (search, ads, social media). A growth agency adds an experimentation method across the whole funnel and often outbound, CRM and automation. Digital marketing agencies have their own comparison.

How much does a growth marketing agency cost?

Agencies in this ranking usually charge a monthly fee, plus the ad budget (paid to the platforms) and tools (CRM, enrichment, email). Ask for a quote that separates these items and states the commitment period.

How is this ranking of growth marketing agencies built?

We start from our database of 4,648 agency listings taken from Google Maps. We remove closed, rejected listings and those with no website, no Google listing or fewer than 10 reviews, we merge duplicates (an agency present in several cities counts once), then we check on each agency’s website that growth marketing is the service it actually leads with. The remaining agencies are ranked by their Google rating weighted by review count (Bayesian rating). Ratings and reviews were checked on 29 October 2026.

Did agencies pay to appear in this ranking?

No. No agency was contacted or paid, and none can buy its place. An agency that closes its Google listing or drops below the review threshold leaves the list automatically.

Why is Uclic at the top of the list?

Uclic publishes this comparison and lists itself first, and says so clearly. Its position is not computed with the formula: the agencies that follow are ranked solely by their Google rating weighted by review count.
