The challenge

Objective

• Industrialize editorial production without degrading quality or being exposed to penalties for unregulated AI content.
• Reduce dependence on freelancers while keeping journalists for editorial review and factual oversight.

The Uclic approach, Custom-built App

Custom-built application where journalists review articles. AI scrapes news, aggregates player data, generates internal links, finds photos from image banks, then prompts the LLM for the final article.

   Football news scraping

   Continuous monitoring of football sources (rumors, transfers, conferences, rankings). Real-time detection of high-potential editorial angles.

   Player data aggregation

   Automatic enrichment: player profile, current club, season statistics, market value, transfer history, retrieved from structured sources.

   Automatic internal linking

   Automatic generation of internal links to existing player / club / transfer pages at the time of writing, plus backlink injection into older articles.

   Image bank photo

   Automatic selection of an image consistent with the article via a licensed image bank, without human intervention.

   AI prompt generation

   Drafting by LLM, constrained by aggregated data (step 2), planned internal linking (step 3), and an editorial template calibrated by article category.

   Journalist review

   The journalist receives the article in the internal app. They validate / amend / reject. They decide if the article goes to publication, not the AI.

   Automatic publication

   Once validated, the article is pushed for publication on the site with its metadata, image, internal links, and SEO schema. No additional manual action.

Results

The deployment of the AI process on December 10, 2025, triggered a clear break in the Search Console curve: an immediate and sustained explosion of organic traffic, without bumps or setbacks in the following weeks.

• 4.66M organic clicks and 67.6M impressions accumulated over 12 months in Search Console.
• Average CTR of 6.9%, more than double the average for the football media sector.
• Average position 3.9 across all queries, meaning within the top 5 for the bulk of long-tail searches.
• Production multiplied by 10 while reducing the marginal writing cost by 80%, and without breaking the human review chain.
